Under the guidance of the "carbon neutrality" goal, hydrogen energy is accelerating the green transformation of traditional industries. Today, the Jiaochu Economic Development Zone (Jiaxing Port Area) in Zhejiang Province has witnessed an innovative practice in hydrogen agriculture development - the first hydrogen agriculture demonstration base in the Yangtze River Delta, jointly established by Jiaxing Port Area Ecological Agriculture Development Investment Co., Ltd. and United Hydrogen, has been officially completed. This marks a substantive step forward in the application exploration of hydrogen technology in the field of modern agriculture.

As a cutting - edge direction of green and low - carbon agriculture, the development of hydrogen agriculture relies on the synergy between the government and enterprises and the in - depth integration of industry, academia, and research.  Representatives from United Hydrogen and Zhongqing Shuangdi jointly signed an industry - academia - research cooperation agreement. The two parties will work together to integrate scientific research forces and industrial resources, injecting strong impetus into the technological breakthroughs and achievement transformation in hydrogen agriculture. 

The Yangtze River Delta Hydrogen Agriculture Demonstration Base of United Hydrogen has introduced advanced hydrogen nanobubble equipment. Focusing on the characteristic fruit and vegetable varieties in the Yangtze River Delta region, it conducts full - scenario field trials of hydrogen fertilizer and hydrogen water irrigation. 

The project is planned to cover an area of 38 mu. At present, it mainly cultivates varieties such as hydrogen - treated strawberries, watermelons, and melons. In the future, it will further expand the scope of the trials and explore the application effects of hydrogen water irrigation on leafy vegetables and more tropical fruits. 

By testing the actual effectiveness of the technology through actual production, the project is committed to creating a replicable and promotable comprehensive solution for green and low - carbon agriculture, and promoting the vision of "hydrogen nourishing fertile fields and intelligence empowering farming" to take root in the fields. 

A relevant official from Jiaxing Port Area Agricultural Investment Company stated: "This cooperation with United Hydrogen is an innovative attempt for us to fulfill the responsibilities of state-owned enterprises and explore the green transformation of modern agriculture.We are based in the local area and introduce the 'hydrogen' element, a cutting-edge concept, into traditional farming. Not only do we want to see if the fruits and vegetables irrigated with hydrogen water will grow better and have better quality, but also we hope that through this 'model area', the surrounding farmers can see the results, learn the techniques, and benefit from it." 

"Hydrogen energy is not only the core of the future energy system, but also an important lever for promoting cross-industry integration and empowering the upgrading of traditional industries. Agriculture is precisely a vast blue ocean for the application of hydrogen energy technology."  Zhang Jihua, the vice president of  United Hydrogen, stated at the ceremony. "This collaboration with the Port Area Agricultural Investment Company is not only a vivid practice based on regional resource endowments and responding to the demands of the times, but also completes the key loop of the hydrogen energy industry chain in Jiaxing Port Area." 

At the event site, Dr. Zhang Yanfeng, the president of Shanghai Yangtze River Delta Hydrogen Technology Research Institute, presented the plaque and inaugurated the "Hydrogen Agriculture Demonstration Base". 

In addition, experts in hydrogen medicine and hydrogen agriculture, Professor Shen Wenbiao, were also invited to the site. He shared the research achievements of the team over the past decade in hydrogen agriculture and released a new book, providing theoretical guidance for the practical application of hydrogen agriculture. The hydrogen energy industry not only concerns national energy security, but also has great potential in promoting agricultural modernization and intelligence.Based on the five-year experimental verification by Professor Shen Wenbiao's team, the hydrogen agriculture technology has achieved remarkable results in promoting crop growth, providing scientific basis and theoretical support for the implementation of the project in Jiaxing Port Area. 

With the official completion of the United Hydrogen  Yangtze River Delta Hydrogen Agriculture Demonstration Base, the port area has successfully established a complete hydrogen energy industrial chain loop covering hydrogen production, storage and transportation, as well as its application in industries, transportation and agriculture.This project not only sets a benchmark for the transformation and upgrading of regional green agriculture, but also provides a reference model for the diversified application of hydrogen energy across the country.
